Very good | I received an excellent service. The lady on reception was kind, helpful and I was able to get an appointment sooner than I had expected. The Dr that I spoke to was extremely supportive, listened and provided me with the assistance that I needed. Poor | I wanted to discuss my medication with the gp as I am concerned about long term use. I know it is not good to take long term and can cause issues with bone density and mineral and vitamin deficiencies. I have been on it for 10 months now with no review. Because I am in the hands of a consultant I was told that the GP practice had gone as far as it could and there was nothing more they could do! I felt as if the GP didn’t want to know she said I need to go back to consult to discuss concerns with him. Explained I didn’t feel as if the consultant was getting to root of my problem, that I am still having daily symptoms and that I am concerned for my long term health if my issue is not got on top of. I also requested blood tests to check iron and certain vitamin levels and was told blood tests were not routine for my medication and they are expensive! She said she would check if I could have them and come back to me. I have heard nothing. Her attitude on this occasion towards me was not great and made me feel as is I was wasting her time. I would like to add this GP is usually very lovely so I am not sure what happened on this occasion maybe she was having a bad day! | Medication review and a blood test. Take more time to listen to patients and understand that just because someone is in the hands of a consultant that shouldn’t be the end of their contact with their GP and if they have concerns they should be able to see the GP without being made to feel they are wasting their time! | December 31, 2023 at 8:20 am |
