Overall, the surgery is very good but things are slipping. Always struggle just to get appointment but seems getting worse. I had a very bad splinter injury but as I couldn’t get an appointment I had to see the lady at the chemist. She said I needed strong dose of penicillin. Then I had to go back yet again to get them on prescription.
Two weeks later it was getting worse, not better. I managed to get an appointment with a nice lady nurse. She quickly looked at it then said I needed a double dose of penicillin, so another prescription.
It has been highly infected caused by a budlea bush splinter. I thought I’d got most of it out. It has been badly weeping with yellow gunge.
Yesterday, to my suprise, after squeezing out the gunge, a splinter which was well over an inch long and about 6mm thickness protruded out of the wound.
So, that had been buried in my hand for nearly 4 weeks. I have a good picture if you’d like to see it.
As I’m a farmer, work cannot stop but the pain and inability to carry important jobs out have caused me real delays and stress.

Firstly, I think you need to try and sort out your appointment book. As most surgeries you need more doctors with the ever increasing population.
Secondly, because I couldn’t see a qualified doctor, I could have easily got sepsis. For all I know, I might have it now, but it seems more painful to just try and get to see someone.
